I seem to have consistent problems shuting down whichever init state I use
basically I get the following errors messages followed by a return to the prompt
# shutdown -i6 -g0 -y

Hi,
I'm having this Ultra5 system with Solaris10 on it.
And when its booting, I get this warning 3 times and the system wait a considerable amount of time there before proceeding.
WARNING: add_spec: No major number for fp
And when its shutting down, I get this:
Shutdown: RPC: Program not... (1 Reply)
I have a unix server through which some ten client machines are connected. I want to shutdown/restart all the machine from the server through the shell script during the particular time of the day. I welcome your suggestions.

hi folks, i have a snag, when i attempt shutdown of solaris 10 on a sunfire v240 it seems to pause for ages, and goes no further, im busy learning my way around the system so please be patient.

shutdown [--user admin_user][--password admin_password][--host localhost] [--port 4848][--passwordfile filename][--secure|-s]
shutdown gracefully brings down the administration server and all the running instances. You must manually start the administration server
to bring it up again.
