What does your /etc/resolv.conf say?

Can you ping by numeric address?

Have you tried "nslookup"?

Eg

Code:
nslookup www.unix.com

try "telnet 216.34.131.135" as an example....

Also, remember "traceroute".

Finally, try a static address configuration on your subnet that does not conflict with the router's DHCP.
