The last two, I added them in hope, that computer will try to resolve it's hostname from itself.
Maybe I should to start DNS server on it?

Looks like there is no affect of this file on my system. Without this file the same behavior - nslookup still resolves correctly hostname and IP.
Also, nslookup shows the following warning:
I tryed the set the domain name (I set it as hostname - hp-j5000) in /etc/resolv.conf the behavior was the same, just no that warning.

1x Windows Server (Windows 2000 server)
1x Unix Server
2x Windows machine
3x Unix Terminals (Hostnames = A, B and C)

I recently installed Solaris 10 on my Sun workstation. I cannot ping using hostname from another computer on the same network.
But I can ping using the IP address. Also I can ping other systems using their hostnames.

I have a partition with a problem with ping.
