Error [help] changing time on solaris 8 sparc

hi expert,

i have a problem to change time on my box V890 sparc, as below :

% su
% date 1200.00

the time is changed but after i logout and login again the date is come to existing.

how to change the date/time permanently without restart ?

Running Solaris Sparc Apps on X86 Solaris

I know that Sun make s a version of Solaris for Sparc platforms and also an x86 (Intel/AMD) release of Solaris. Can an application that runs on Solaris/Sparc also run on a PC running the x86 release of Solaris? Would a different release be required or any re-compling of the application? jim (1 Reply)

changing time in cluster mode sun solaris

Howdy experts, I am using two Sun-Fire-T200 which is in Cluster mode (sun cluster 3.1). Also Oracle RAC is running on those. A daylight saving i need to apply in both servers.
