Did anyone get gcc updated on sco 5.0.7 ?
Here is what I did
installed Openserver Development System
installed Openserver Linker and Application Development Libraries
This gave me older gcc compiler 2.95.3 which is required to compile the latest gcc 3.4.3

This may sound like a newbee question - and it is. But a project that I'm managing is under a time crunch and I need a quick answer.
IS it possible to install gcc 2.8.1 on a Solaris 10 Sun box? We have some old libraries that need that version of the compiler in order to work... (2 Replies)

AIM- Install Oracle 11g on Solaris using VMWare
Steps
1.Logged on as root
2.Created subfolders ŕ /usr/local/bin & /usr/local/bin/gcc
3.Downloaded gcc & libiconv & unzipped them on my harddrive & burnt them on CD
4.Copied files from CD to /usr/local/bin/gcc

Hi, I am having trouble installing Arachne from the broad institute.
I'm using ubuntu through Oracle's VirtualBox.

This is the error I got when running configure
configure: error: Building GCC requires GMP 4.2+, MPFR 2.4.0+ and MPC 0.8.0+.
So I went along to install the three of them
