finding biggest number
I think my script is working but i am trying to understand while I am tracing to see if it's realli working..
can somebody please comment.. also. is there different way to write this in shell?
sh -x findbiggestnum 1 2 3
+ [ 3 -lt 3 ]

+ [ 2 ]

Hi, is there a command that takes the PID of a process and that only diplays it's ni number?
I`m pretty sure it would require pipes but I tried a few things that ended up miserably...

using the command
wc -l $FILE_NAME
it works fine
But when I try to assign this value to some variable using the command
set NUM_DT_SESSION=$(wc -l $FILE_NAME)
it shows error Variable syntax

strcasestr(const char *big, const char *little);
DESCRIPTION
The strstr() function locates the first occurrence of the nul-terminated string little in the nul-terminated string big.
The strcasestr() function is similar to strstr(), but ignores the case of both strings.
RETURN VALUES
If little is an empty string, big is returned; if little occurs nowhere in big, NULL is returned; otherwise a pointer to the first character
of the first occurrence of little is returned.
EXAMPLES
The following sets the pointer ptr to the "Bar Baz" portion of largestring:
