how to tell which OS via command line
What is the linux operating command line to find out what OS you are running on linux?
I initially thought uname -a would do it, but it only lists kernel version.. can someone tell me?

Hi everyone,
when executing this command in unix:
echo "WM7 Fatal Alerts:", $(cat query1.txt) > a.csvIt works fine, but running this command in a shell script gives an error saying that there's a syntax error.

I understand what they do and how to use them.

setsid - run a program in a new session
SYNOPSIS
setsid [options] program [arguments]
DESCRIPTION
setsid runs a program in a new session. The command calls fork(2) if already a process group leader. Otherwise, it executes a program in
the current process.
OPTIONS
-c, --ctty
Set the controlling terminal to the current one.
-w, --wait
Wait for the execution of the program to end, and return the exit value of this program as the return value of setsid.
-V, --version
Display version information and exit.
-h, --help
Display help text and exit.
