Dear All,
I am using HP-UNIX. I want to specify host in mailx command line.
A -> B
I am in Server A. And run a mailx command line to send mail to abc@xyz.com. But Server A don't know where xyz.com is.

ok i am pretty new i am thinking this maybe a dns situatioan i dunno....
i am trying to start nfs server i get the followin error:
mountd svc_tli create could not bind to requested address: address mismatch
svc_create: svc_tli_create failed

Hi, Can anyone pls. tell me how to access Active directory from solaris. I am looking at solution by which I can send mail notification from the logs generated by scripts, to the users on Exchange server. I am trying for a Perl-LDAP module , but don't realy know how to go for it (5 Replies)

Hi,
I want to automate process of making server up and down.
For us making server up and down is just to go to particular directory in user directories (in Unix box) and running start and stop shell script .
We have to run the same things on 5 users on same server .

Hi to all,
i cant start my x server.
I use putty and xming.
When i type xclock i get no promt back and i must type ctrl+c to get promt again.
start x is giving me:
$ startx
Fatal server error:
PAM authentication failed, cannot start X server.

Hello All
I just want to know how to Shut Down the Solaris Machines( Servers ) for Maintainance and then Start Up the Machines ( Servers ) .
I think I will have to Log In as root to do that .

I have sent a mail to my gmail id using the below command.
echo " " | mailx -s "sub" myid@gmail.com
I didn't get any error notification. But still I didn't receive that mail still..
please help me to learn how to send mail to other provider (Yahoo/gmail) from unix server.... (1 Reply)

I had a query that should the RHEL servers in production environment be re-started say every 2-3 months so that the cache is cleared?
I hope, my question is clear that should the Red Hat Linux servers be restarted periodically.

install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
