Data Recovery Software for Ext2 and Ext3 File system volumes.Provides Linux partition recovery from a deleted logical partition.
Try this utility see if it can be of any help. I am not sure that it will provides recovery from ext3 file system but it has worked for me for ext2 file system.
And it will not provide the recovery from over-written data. As far as my knowledge goes no data recovery software provides recovery from over-written data. If any one knows then please make us aware.

I have a CentOS release 5.2 (Final)host running kernel 2.6.18-92.el5 with at raid 10 that had two mirrored drives fail. The drives were re-inserted and now the raid shows healthy (for now). I tried to mount but got an Input/output error. I then attempted a fsck:

My root file system is of type LVM. i wanna shrink it but unable to do so.
When i give the below command:
resize2fs /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-VolLog00 10000M

I been trying to recover a volume group of single PV.

Couldn't find device with uuid 'a3onP5-RdbR-fdgq-sDkS-ZtFs-83Q5-kFJj43'.
Cannot restore Volume Group vgoraData with 1 PVs marked as missing.

recover_bus
Recover routine. Either pass driver's recover_bus routine, or i2c_generic_scl_recovery or i2c_generic_gpio_recovery.
get_scl
This gets current value of SCL line. Mandatory for generic SCL recovery. Used internally for generic GPIO recovery.
set_scl
This sets/clears SCL line. Mandatory for generic SCL recovery. Used internally for generic GPIO recovery.
get_sda
This gets current value of SDA line. Optional for generic SCL recovery. Used internally, if sda_gpio is a valid GPIO, for generic GPIO
recovery.
prepare_recovery
This will be called before starting recovery. Platform may configure padmux here for SDA/SCL line or something else they want.
unprepare_recovery
