The Recommended Patch Cluster reflects the current version of all of the patches
required to address all Sun Alert issues. Some customers have adopted a policy of
periodically applying the current Recommended Patch Cluster to a system. While
this strategy does address all Sun Alert issues, it also introduces more change to
the system than is necessary. Similarly, reapplying the current Recommended
Patch Cluster on a scheduled basis is also not necessary.

The Sun Alert Pack reflects the lowest revision of all of the patches necessary to
address all Sun Alert issues, and the least possible change to your system while
still addressing all Sun Alert issues.

SUN V440 Question

I have a SUN V440 and it is running Solaris 9 with two NICs in the box ce0 ce1. Is there any way to get full duplex 1000? I do I check to see what ce0 and ce1 is set at and if it is not set to full duplex 1000, how do I set it and do I have to reboot the system afterward? I am new to the SUN unix... (5 Replies)

       clprivnet - SUNW,clprivnet Sun Cluster private network driver

SYNOPSIS

       /dev/clprivnet

DESCRIPTION

       Note -

	 Beginning  with  the Sun Cluster 3.2 release, Sun Cluster software includes an object-oriented command set. Although Sun Cluster software
	 still supports the original command set, Sun Cluster procedural documentation uses only the object-oriented command set. For more  infor-
	 mation about the object-oriented command set, see the Intro(1CL) man page.

       The  SUNW,clprivnet  Sun  Cluster  private  network driver is a STREAMS pseudo driver supporting Sun Cluster resident applications that use
       standard Solaris interfaces to communicate over the Sun Cluster private network. By striping data traffic over all links, this driver opti-
       mally utilizes the bandwidth of the private network while supporting highly available, software fault-tolerant communication.

APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE

       The driver is supported by the character-special device /dev/clprivnet, but is reserved for Sun Cluster internal operation and the standard
       Solaris network utilities. This interface must not be directly used for general application communication.

ADMINISTRATION

       The administration and configuration of the driver as a network interface is done completely by the Sun Cluster infrastructure internals.
