Hi Perderabo,
Thanks for this. Sorry I didn't do a search first before posting.
Another question on this; the image that I've now successfully mounted is the Solaris 9 install DVD, how do I now install Solaris 9 onto my spare disk?
There is a file called Installer, which I've run but this only installs Live Upgrade.
Am I attemping to do something that's not possible? Or possibly dangerous?
EDIT: I've found the following which I'm currently reading thru:

# mdconfig -a -t vnode -f /path/to/myimage.iso -u 1
# mount -t cd9660 /dev/md1 /media
and receive the next message:

I have a failed 160 GB Western Digital Netcenter NAS disk and its image after failing in .DSK format.
When I connect the disk to my ubuntu machine and typed:
# losetup -o 512006144 /dev/loop1 /dev/sdc
# mkdir /tmp/sdc

suninstall - install the Solaris operating system
SYNOPSIS
suninstall
DESCRIPTION
install-solaris(1M) is now the preferred command for starting and restarting the Solaris Installation program. It should be used instead of
suninstall. suninstall is symbolically linked to install-solaris.
suninstall is a forms-based and graphical subsystem for installing the operating system.
suninstall exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should only be invoked from there. Refer to the Solaris 10 Instal-
lation Guide: Basic Installations for more details.
suninstall allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. suninstall loads the software available on the installa-
