I got a script
It just displays all the content of the record (print $0) , followed by the first field (echo $1).
Why we don't use
. Is it exactly the same?
I know that command | getline echome . It reads each line and applies the command command to the variable echome.
I have an inputfile that I trying to awk with a getline(Solaris v8 ksh). However I need to have the results be a unique. Is there a comparable command within awk to return a unique result? I need to zip/compress a data file and send to a vendor. The vendor does have only unzip utility and can accept only .ZIP files. I do not have zip utility in my server.

so pipe of getline has to use the " symbol

asadmin-list-jdbc-resources, list-jdbc-resources - gets all the JDBC resources
SYNOPSIS
list-jdbc-resources --user admin_user [--password admin_password][--host localhost] [--port 4848] [--secure|-s] [--passwordfile filename]
[--terse=false] [--echo=false] [--interactive=true]
Lists all the JDBC resources. This command is supported in remote mode only.
OPTIONS --user authorized domain application server administrative username.
--password password to administer the domain application server.
--host machine name where the domain application server is running.
--port port number of the domain application server listening for administration requests.
--secure if true, uses SSL/TLS to communicate with the domain application server.
--passwordfile file containing the domain application server password.
--terse indicates that any output data must be very concise, typically avoiding human-friendly sentences and favoring well-
formatted data for consumption by a script.
--echo setting to true will echo the command line statement on the standard output.
--interactive prompts you for the required options that are not already specified.
