I have a script which would monitor a given directory and delete any files which are older than 10 days. I was going to set the 10 crob jobs to perform this operation for 10 different directories (some are actually sub-directories), but my boss doesn't like that idea, so I need to do that in one... Hi,
I have a mail server with limited space and operating system is sun solaris 8 (sparc). I do not have provisions to increase the space for home directory.
So i have to delete files from /home/username/mail/trash which are more than 10 days old automatically.

this script partially works but it's still pretty ugly and, moreover, if the month is jan/feb/mar... it doesn't work at all.

restore-trash - Restore for Command line trash utility.
SYNOPSIS
restore-trash
DESCRIPTION
Use for restore a trashed file or directory, in the original path. This command is a part of trash-cli package that provides a command
line interface trashcan utility compliant with the FreeDesktop.org Trash Specification. It remembers the name, original path, deletion
date, and permissions of each trashed file.
EXAMPLES
$ restore-trash
0 2007-08-30 12:36:00 /home/andrea/foo
1 2007-08-30 12:39:41 /home/andrea/bar
2 2007-08-30 12:39:41 /home/andrea/bar2
