would like to ask if anyone has ever had any bad experience in serving http over nfs? (document root on nfs)
why should i avoid this, if its not recommended?
if the answer is nfs locks, i can tell apache to create the locks on local fs.

first of all am forming a URL and sending that URL to a remote server using my Client Program
i send that url through Socket(using Send() Function)

I am running a website but I still have problems with the "service temporarily unavailable error". I want to make a simple check if the website is up and running. Does anybody has an idea how to do it? (the site is password protected, so you have to add a user and pwd before logging in).

Hi,
I'm trying to write a script to determine the time gap between HTTP PUT and HTTP DELETE requests in the HTTP Servers access log.
Normally client will do HTTP PUT to push content e.g. file_1.txt and 21 seconds later it will do HTTP DELETE, but sometimes the time varies causing some issues... (3 Replies)

DESCRIPTION
The AnswerBook2 server product is no longer included with Solaris or the Solaris Documentation CD products. Solaris docmentation is now
provided in HTML and PDF format on the Documentation CD and does not require the AnswerBook2 server to be viewed.
The answerbook2 utility opens the default web browser and displays an HTML page that shows a link to locally installed documentation, and,
if the AnswerBook2 server has been defined, a link to AnswerBook2 collections.
To define a default AnswerBook2 server, use the environment variable, AB2_DEFAULTSERVER.
This functionality is also accessible through the AnswerBook2 option on the CDE front panel Help menu.
If you need an AnswerBook2 server, you can download the AnswerBook2 server software from http://www.sun.com.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-h Displays a usage statement.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
AB2_DEFAULTSERVER Fully-qualified URL that identifies the default AnswerBook2 server to use. For example:
