Semaphore Error
Hi,
Getting the following error while starting any application on solaris server(Sun-Fire-880)
.
[14/Jul/2006:07:45:27] WARNING ( 357): CORE3283: stderr: 357: CSemCounter created a semaphore with ID 1442787 using key 989897871.
[14/Jul/2006:07:45:27] WARNING ( 357): CORE3283: stderr: 357: RemoveSem removed semaphore 1442787.
[14/Jul/2006:07:45:27] WARNING ( 357): CORE3283: stderr: 357: InitSem created a semaphore with ID 65708 using key 1008209174.
Kindly provide the reason for cause this and solution so that we can avoid such stituation in future.

The server call accept() and after that start the thread.

Control two exclusively shared resources(semaphore). The two resources are two files. The producer will write even numbers to one file, and odd numbers to another one. The consumer respectively reads from each file until it gets 5 even numbers and 5 odd numbers.

Since the process address spaces are different rfom each other then how all the child process are able to access the same semaphore?

is semaphore id is associated in terms as in resources like semaphore id 1 indicates cpu share unit is given and semaphore id 2 will indicate abt the memore or semaphore id 3 will tell us the i/o components (1 Reply)

Hello, i have problem with a semaphore script. There must be 3 printers and we have 7 books to print which have 7 chapters each.
Printing times each chapter:
Ch1 => 5 seconds
Ch2 => 6s
Ch3 => 7s
Ch4 => 4s
Ch5 => 5s
Ch6 => 6s
Ch7 => 3s

install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation:
For SPARC machines:
128 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
128 MB
Minimum physical memory required for windowing system
384 MB
Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation
For x86 machines:
256 MB
Minimum physical memory for all installation types
256 MB
