Removing certain fields from a file
Hi,
I have a file namely 'inputs' The values inside the file are like this and seperated by a '|'.
mani|21|CSE
How can I extract the values from this file without the '|' symbol.

The file should have 4 fields to load into a database. The file may have cr, lf, or end of line characters.

I have a file as below
<field1> <field2> <field3> ... <field_num1> <field_num2>
Trying to sort based on difference of <field_num1> and <field_num2> in desceding order and print all fields.
I tried this and it doesn't sort on the difference field .. Appreciate your help.

In the awk below I am trying to add a penalty to a score to each matching $1 in file2 based on the sum of $3+$4 (variable TL) from file1. TclX_NewKeyedListObj
Create and initialize a new keyed list object.
Returns:

TclX_KeyedListGet
Retrieve a key value from a keyed list.
Parameters:
o interp - Error message will be return in result if there is an error.
o keylPtr - Keyed list object to get key from.
o key - The name of the key to extract. Will recusively process sub-keys seperated by `.'.
o valueObjPtrPtr - If the key is found, a pointer to the key object
is returned here. NULL is returned if the key is not present.
Returns:
o TCL_OK - If the key value was returned.
o TCL_BREAK - If the key was not found.
o TCL_ERROR - If an error occured.
TclX_KeyedListSet
