Unix Install
Hi
I'm a newbie here and, in Unix. I bought a book to learn the code. I have been in different websites to find information on how to install Red Hat Linux 7.2 on my system, but I may not understand what's going on. All I see on the sites is ftp sites for download but when you click on the links all you see is data, I keep looking for an executable without finding one? I have made partitions on my system so I have a partition ready for the install but how do I install it? It's frustrating to me at this point as I seemed totally lost
I'm not understanding and there is no detail information out there as to how to install all these different flavors in Unix environment. I hope someone can guide me in the right direction and bring back my smile!! I'd appreciate all the feedback provided.

I see the tar.gz, tar.gz2 and rpm packages.

rhn_register - Connect to Spacewalk Server, Red Hat Satellite or Red Hat Network Classic. SYNOPSIS
rhn_register [options] DESCRIPTION
rhn_register is a client program that registers your system with "Spacewalk Server", "Red Hat Satellite" or "Red Hat Network Classic". After registering, your system can receive software updates, install new software, and remotely manage your system. It can run both in graphical and text modes. OPTIONS
-v, --verbose Increase the debugging output. --proxy=PROXY Specify an http proxy to use. --proxyUser=PROXYUSER Specify a username to use for an authenticated proxy. This option must be used in conjunction with proxyPassword. --proxyPassword=PROXYPASSWORD Specify a password to use for an authenticated proxy.
