Adding up to Mojo's reply.....

Pls try to print the errno/ err mesage that you get when you bind the socket. That will be more helpful in narrowing down your debugging.

jetpipe <printerdevice> <portnumber> DESCRIPTION
jetpipe will bind a printer device to a given portnumber so the printer can be accessed through the JetDirect protocol from a remote client. EXAMPLE
