i'm new to this company and i'm using old AIX 4.3 with DAS and SSA storage. What is the best way to query a report for disk capacity, usage, free, etc.
I know in AIX 5 there's a command for "du -g /" or "du -m /" to report the total usage but I'm not using AIX5. In AIX 4.3 I can use "df... (5 Replies)

My system is running on RHEL4. I've just deleted 2 huge tablespaces from Oracle.
Then I saw the disk usage. The report by df differs from the du.
Do you know why they shows different results? Which one is correct?

Our small company, about 5 users, need a basic script that scans mapped network drives (example: drive b,c,d, e, and f) for hard drive usage. Hello,
Is there a way to get a Memory Usage report of for example one month?? I do know glance -m, top, swapinfo -tam and SAM. But that's all real time memory stuff. I do want to create a report/graph for a longer period.
It concerns a Superdome 2 with HPUX 11iV3

NAME
chroot - change root directory for a command
SYNOPSIS
newroot command
DESCRIPTION
The command executes command relative to the newroot. The meaning of any initial slashes in path names is changed for command and any of
its children to newroot. Furthermore, the initial working directory is newroot.
Note that command suffixes that affect input or output for the command use the original root, not the new root. For example, the command:
locates file relative to the original root, not the new one.
The command variable includes both the command name and any arguments.
The new root path name is always relative to the current root. Even if a is currently in effect, the newroot argument is relative to the
current root of the running process.
This command is restricted to users with appropriate privileges.
