Hi, I can't delete an NIS user. Does it sound too simple for you? :( Here is the result:
nis_server# ypcat passwd | grep heisgone
heisgone:xxxxxx:1000:200:He is gone:/home/heisgone:/usr/bin/ksh
nis_server# userdel heisgone

As I do a ssh <nis_user>@server1 from server2, ssh prompts for certificates (as expected the first time), then it prompts for the users password, as soon as I enter the password, I get a Connection to server1 closed by remote host, and connection to server1 closed. and I disconnect back to the... niserror - display NIS+ error messages
SYNOPSIS
niserror error-num
DESCRIPTION
niserror prints the NIS+ error associated with status value error-num on the standard output. It is used by shell scripts to translate
NIS+ error numbers that are returned into text messages.
EXAMPLES
Example 1 Using niserror
The following example prints the error associated with the error number 20:
