I have a pc loaded with windows 2000 professional. Recently added new disk of size 80GB and installed redhat linux to second disk. Now system is booting to linux but not to windows 2000. How to configure for dual boot.

Well, I formatted my entire harddrive (40gig), partitioned it into three partitions, FAT32 for WindowsXP (30 gig), Linux ext3 (7gig), and Linux swap (about 500mb). All this with PartitionMagic 8.0 and it took hours. After all that, I installed the "publishers version" of Red Hat with ease. I was on... (12 Replies)

Okay, let me sketch the problem.
I did have a ubuntu / Windows XP dual boot scenario that ran grub as my boot loader. I decided I wanted to try out solaris, so I popped in the opensolaris CD and hit install and told it to format and install over my linux partition.

I am trying to set up a dual boot system with Red Hat EL 5.2 and Windows XP Pro. I have a separate disk for each OS. Grub is on the same disk as redhat(the primary disk). DESCRIPTION
This class provides a Curses::UI interface to configuration data managed by Config::Model.
IMPORTANT: Once the CursesUI object is created, STDOUT and STDERR are managed by the Curses interface, so all print and warn will not work
as expected.
CONSTRUCTOR
The constructor accepts the following parameters:
experience
Specifies the experience level of the user (default: "beginner"). The experience can be "master advanced beginner".
load
Subroutine ref containing the code to load the configuration data from the configuration files. This may overrides loading mechanism
specified in the model with Config::Model::AutoRead. This sub is called without any arguments.
store
Subroutine ref containing the code to store the configuration data in the configuration files. This may overrides writing mechanism
specified in the model with Config::Model::AutoRead. This sub is called without any arguments.
