You can check out QNX RTOS (
http://get.qnx.com), or AtheOS (
http://www.atheos.cx). There are literally dozens of cool OSs out there to play with, although many are a work in progress. Another one I've been wanting to try, but don't have the time or hardware to play with is Plan9, from our friends at Bell Labs (
http://www.cs.bell-labs.com/plan9dist/). Too bad their mascott is an ugly little rodent...

How do I set up my cdrom to play some regular audio cd (not cd-r or cd-rw). I know that my cdrom has been mounted as it does pop up the file manager if I put in, e.g., the office52 cd.
