First of all. With the 7 cd's only 2 of them are the O/S itself. The rest is usually doc's and programs for the O/S. Lots of which you wouldn't use especially if you new to linux you wouldn't.
As Kelam Magus said you can get a copy from a book store. Most comman is Redhat that comes with it. But there are other versions. That way you also get a book :-)
Though if your only new to Linux I wouldn't go and spend a heap of money on it. What if you don't like it? You would like itbut what if you don't or want to change the distro? So go with the cheap option until you get a distro you like and want to use 100% of your time :-)
