FX software, business inteligence and analyst jobs

Hi everyone,

recently I've been offered a selection procedure for new Barclays development center in Prague. Job role should be something like:
Barclays FX Application Management Support Analyst Job in Prague | Glassdoor
Could anyone throw me some light into what skill levels are needed, what are the the job responsibilities etc. or even any own experience with that kind of job?
I'am currently working as a IT administrator of mostly but not limited to Linux. Will try it even only for experience but would like to know what should I prepare myself for.

Thanks

A support analyst for FX is no different than for most other analyst banking functions. On a front office position, you will answer technical questions from internal clients, help users get started with new functionality, occasionally help out with migrations of data or software.
In the second or third line, you will be closer to the business, answering functionally related questions, perhaps even software maintenance.
The system mentioned in the role description is for retail and corporate clients, as opposed to wholesale clients.

As I am totaly unexperienced in this field could you please describe little bit more usage of scripting/sql and what skill level is required?

It would go rather far to list all responsibilities and skills required on a job like that. You could do two things:
- Find positions elsewhere for a similar role and read up on the skills required, often some more detail is provided which gives you a much better and nuanced idea of the responsibilities.
- Call the recruiting agency to go into more detail of what they are looking for in a candidate; more often than not are they willing to provide some detail and as an added benefit implicitly places you on the radar as a genuinely interested candidate.
