Google codesearch abandoned

I just found out that Google has decided to abandon its google code search facility: Official Google Blog: A fall sweep
This is one website that was used routinely for developing software, as it had a breadth not seen before. Now it is back to sourceforge and forums.

Alternative to GCS

As an alternative to Google CodeSearch, you can try SymbolHound Code Search.

It indexes and searches open source code repos like GCS did. There is also a web search option that allows you to search for non-Googleable symbols/special characters (so you can find forums, blogs, etc.)

Hope it helps

Koders

Hi! Please also check out koders.com. We will be upgrading it to be based on Code Sight, plus some new improvements requested by koders users.

These are very worthwhile initiatives. Note that we are not only using this to locate code that we can use internally, but also to check for our own code that is in the public domain and able to identify its use elsewhere.

Code Search at Ohloh Code - the new Koders!

Hi!
We have an update! and an alternative to the previous Google Code Search. Please check out the new Koders. It's called Ohloh Code. Right now we have 8 BLOCs indexed for search (after de-duplication, 10+ BLOCs otherwise), and more is cranking through! The project list is managed self-service at Ohloh, and is about 550,000 projects. Please let us know your thoughts!

best regards,Smilie

Where can I get Sun Ultra 20 tools & drivers when Oracle abandoned them?

I'm in a desperate pursuit for Tools and Drivers CD for the six of my Ultra 20 M2 workstations - some of them have latest BIOS, some of them don't. Oracle doesn't support them anymore - I even bought myself a CSI to get to support, but still no luck - and it seems the ISOs are nowhere to be found... (2 Replies)
