But ok ... I know ... google is my friend ... Smilie

hmm.. google is not everything ... had that been the case anybody who reads the article can understand it right?

But as you know that is not the case. There is some part of knowledge be it in science, art, work, philosophy etc "some of it" has to be taught by a powerful authority and there is no way the "taught" process can be pushed to books / ebooks / anything ....

I would love to see the man pages in higher prominence and with a link to a thread where people can discuss how and why they use particular commands and suggest others.

Sometimes when I am researching how to do something there is a command for what I am trying to do but because of the language of the man page it does not show up in normal search results, having a forum with people talking about the command would make more usable language show up in searches. Also I have been caught using really outdated commands with nothing in the man page to tell me that there were better commands.

Advertise elsewhere, too many places which can relate to sections here to specify singular websites. Just search for other forums relating to the sections we have here. Also features: possibly an IRC server or a VOIP server and maybe more features added within the bit shop and more forum styles.

There was an initiative to restyle the forum, but was never implemented fully. The site is starting to look from the latter years of the noughts. Perhaps also a handheld friendly version?
