unix ftp
hi all,

one server is in USA and another server is in India . through ftp i transfer 80GB file from India server to usa server it takes 48 hours (i.e 2days) .
my requirement is that i need to transfer this 80GB file with in 2 hours .
how i transfer this with in 2 hours?

There are many factors that could be limiting you here.

  1. Size of the link
  2. Amount of traffic that is allowed to be sent at one time.
  3. Link speed that the server connect with.
You see there is no way for anyone to tell you this without knowing a lot more information. The 3 points listed above are just starting points.

Can't the file be compressed at the source and bloated again at the sink after receiving ?
