week number
how can I display week number using 'date' command. ?? in the manual it says " %w day of week (0..6); 0 is Sunday" I did not get it? help please.

from the manuals:
Code:
       %w     day of week (0..6);  0 represents Sunday

       %W     week number of year with Monday as first day of week (00..53)

Week Display
Hi Alice

Day of Week means, Day number in the current week. For example today (31/10/2007) is 3rd day of week. ie. Wednesday.

0 Sunday
1 Monday
2 Tuesday
3 Wednesday
4 Thursday
5 Friday
6 Saturday

If you want to display day of week you use date +%w command.

If you want to display Week number of the Year, use the command
date +%W .
