What is NR this statement

grep '^[0-9]\{1,10\}$' $colfile | awk '{print "my_col_id("NR") := "$2";"}' >> $SQL_TEMP_FIL

'man nawk' yeilds:
Code:
       NR     ordinal number of the current record

       FNR    ordinal number of the current record in the current file
