Navigation is very easy with VI.
the basic navigation commands in command mode are--

h->right
j->down
k->up
l->right

for searching anything you need to press escape and /pattern

if you want to go to a perticular file press escape :line number

There are so many navigation commands for vi,just do a googling or man vi that will help u alot.

Thanks
Namish
