Display multiple output lines

All,

I have a file ABC.TXT which has two records:

12345 19.93 34.94
12345 94.84 10.48

If do the following command and

grep '12345' ABC.TXT >> test1.txt

If I look at the output of test1.txt I appears as follows:

12345 19.93 34.94 12345 94.84 10.48

I need the output to appear in the output file as

12345 19.93 34.94
12345 94.84 10.48

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks
KP

Hi,
Do u get the correct result when you just issue the following ?
grep '12345' ABC.TXT

Also check the IFS variable.? What does this contains?

I good way of checking text files for unusual characters is to use 'cat -vet'. The following command will print any non ascii characters (look for the '^' symbol) as something visible, mark the end of each line with a '$' and it will print tabs as ^I and Line feels as ^L.

Code:
cat -vet ABC.TXT| more
