Looping through the contents of array for output name
Hi all,

I am trying to loop through the string contents of an array, to add it during the saving of the output files. I am trying this code to print each column and save it to unique file name, but it doesn't work. Thanks for any help.

Code:
fnam=(japan usa uk)
alldata.dat contained sample data as follows
20 30 40
50 30 20
60 20 10

a=0;
for i in {1..3}
   do cut -d" " -f$i alldata.dat >  201005${fnam[a++]}.txt
done

my desired output names:
201005japan.txt
20
50
60

201005usa.txt
30
30
20

201005uk.txt
40
20
10

# 2

  {for(i = 1; i <= NF; i++)
