UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi,

I need help please building a script that will return the substring of a string based on a keyword.

Parameter input would be (for example)
$1='RECSIZE' $2='/export/home/e95028/data/vca_d50600_ca013y.vsam,
CHARSET(EBCDIC),AMTHD(ISAM),
RECSIZE(480),KEYLOC(1),KEYLENGTH(7)'

will return 480, the RECSIZE value.

If the value cannot be determined because the keyword was not found, return null or an empty string. Your choice, whatever is easiest.

Case insensitive would be even better, but I could probably add that ability. And I'll handle making sure the two parameters are present.
