SUN BLADE T6340 - which OS ?

Hi,

I have server SUN BLADE T6340 and i tried install debian sparc on this machine.
Will it work ?
In the specification is written only Solaris 10.

This server supports both Solaris 10 and Solaris 11.
debian doesn't list it as a supported hardware so I doubt it will boot on it reliably (if at all).
OpenBSD is mentioning this server in its sparc64 page.

I boot debian sparc and install it but he did not work.
He stopped on initramfs prompt.
In that case, I'll have to take time to learn Solaris ...

What exactly do you want to do with that machine? Maybe it is fairly easy to accomplish with Solaris.

I have access to 3 of these machines and they wanted to test the performance of hpl.
I did it on Debian and Solaris still do not know enough.
