Tools change retention of logs
Hello all!

Does any one know what the retention of the messages logs are?
Can you change these, if so. Where?

What OS and version?

Most do allow moving and restarting new logs - Solaris comes with a script /usr/lib/newsyslog which can be set up in cron to change different log files.
Not knowing which OS you are using, I can only guess that it would also have such a script or way of doing the same.

Sorry about that. This is Solaris 8. And thanks, found newsyslog.

Hello, and for AIX ? Does someone know how to change log retention value ? It maybe express in number of days.
