Here one of my AIX .profile to give you some inspiration:
Code:
export PATH=$PATH:/home/vbe/scripts:/home/vbe/bin
LIBPATH=/usr/lib:/usr/dt/lib:/opt/freeware/lib:/usr/vac/lib
export PATH LIBPATH
export EDITOR=/usr/bin/vi
if [ -s "$MAIL" ] # This is at Shell startup. In normal
then echo "$MAILMSG" # operation, the Shell checks
fi                          # periodically.
export PS1=`uname -n`':$PWD \$ '
export ENV=$HOME/.kshrc

Don't forget you may not see your .profile file if you just do an ls. You have to do something like an ls -la to view files starting with a '.'
