OK, I tried modifying in place but I get the following error:

I'm not sure I understand the batch commands - what is a glob? Can I use perl commands in a Unix shell? I am very, very new to all this.
Backup your data first!

Just copy/paste and run the Perl command on your shell prompt.

The * generates filenames, the above command will affect all non-hidden files in the current directory. If the file names you want to modify contain a common pattern, use it:

For test1 test2 test3 .. testn use test[0-9] or test* instead of *.
