UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

im new to UNIX but i know some commands and i bought a book about it but what i was wondering is.. should i learn about it i don't have a job where i use it im still in high school so there isn't any classes i can take where i need to learn it i just wanted to see how it works. From what i've heard it seems UNIX is built around people who write files and for office employees and that got me wondering what will i be able to ddo with it? Also will it benefit me in the future if i learn it now? thanks for you answers

unix has much more capabilities then doing paperwork for other people.

if you think you want to learn something that your avg joe dosnet understand and something you might get some usefullness out of then why not learn it.

do you ride a bike? why did you learn? when you turn 16 you will hardly ever walk again let alone ride a bike.
