Data How to send mail from Sun OS 5.10 version?
hi

I am trying to send an email from Sun OS 5.10 version.

I have tried with the following commands, but none of them are working. The machine hangs after i issue the command. Then, I have to kill the process to get back the command prompt.

Can anyone look into this and guide me? Do I have to make any configuration changes to be able to send mails? If so, please let me know, what kind of changes to be made?

After this command I expect it is waiting for you to type the mail body and finish with CTRL-D.

I think you should be using "mailx" not "mail". There is no "-s" switch to "mail". As Scrutinizer points out "mail" it is usually used as an interactive command.

Basic example:

echo "Hello World" | mailx -s "Hello World Test" emailaddress.com
