I would to advice you to use cpio command for that directory

find . -name *.xml  -print | cpio -ov > New_data.cpio

Hi,
How to get the home directory in unix?.But normally we use the command echo $home.But i didn't get the root directory name.How to get my root direcotory Name also

Please clarify to this
when i call a script

vi new.sh
echo $HOME > new.txt

sh new.sh
more new.txt

just empty shown

but in prompt echo $home

/root/User/Mari/

How to get the home path via script
