im prolly wut people like to call a "LAMER"... hahahaha wutever

anyways im very new to unix.... the first time i ever used it was about 3 hours ago... anyways, im not a complete idiot... i know basic vb .net, java, javascript, ado .net, html (ofcourse).. and there are plently of other computer related topics i would like to say i have a basic understanding of.... i am in my second year of computer programming at a community college.... going to University of BC for computer science ... pretty excited about AI.. anyways... enough with the introduction and life story....

i need a guide... someone to guide me to the right places to learn unix/linux (online tutorials, books, wutever) anything and everything to help me learn would be greatly appreciated

unfortunately i have nothing to offer in return as i said before i am a LAMER hahaha.... lets just call me a beginner... i like that better...

well, that being said.... how 'bout some help from the l33t!!!

Grasshopper....use the search button and you shall find your answers. If that is [your] destiny, you cannot change it. But do not go in fear, Grasshopper. Fear is eternal darkness. Go instead with inner strength. For it is like a deep river, into which all streams flow. It increases, always moving forward. And soon, there is nothing that can stand in its way.-Kung Fu: This Movie is awesome! Smilie

On Learning UNIX:

Poe:At times the task you face, may seem overwhelming. And you may feel unequal to what is required.
Young KCC: Master, I observe others, and they seem to know the way.
Poe: Do you?
Young KCC: I am puzzled and unsure. I move one way, and then another. To no purpose.
Poe: And therefore, grieve.
Young KCC: Yes, master.

I agree your guide is this site...

Your mission should you choose to accept it... will be to use the search tool to find answers to your questions...enter phrases like "newbie, guide, faq, intro, tutorial, books, website, site"...

good luck! this message will self-destruct in 5 seconds... 5... 4... 3... 2...

P.S if you search my name for the last 2 years for tutorial, et al. You may find some links to other resources...
