UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

I use elm as mail agent to send mail and some of customers get an empty email (only with subject). I then turn on the debug mode of sendmail and get following log

I mask the "from user", "relay" and "to" by abc as it contain some user info of my company.

The log shows the email is accepted for delivery and the size is 2096. Could I conclude that elm work properly and sendmail already sent the mail which should contain something?

If you have even one person getting the message body, then the elm/sendmail combination is probably delivering correctly.

It's possible due to the context of the message that either filters on the customer side are removing the text, or due to some other reason (doubt that it's due to the size).

Since only some of the customers are not getting the message body, try to find out what the common denominator is:
Everyone not getting message part of same company/department
(then find out what email client they use - find out if anyone who IS getting the message uses that client).

You may still have a problem on your side but it's doubtful since it's working for others.

Try setting up a Yahoo email account (or any outside email account) and sending the email there and then to one of the customers that doesn't get the body. See if they can from the outside source. That would take care of the possiblity that it's something to do with the context of the message.
