Lightbulb Network user admin...

Hi guys...

I'm looking for a app that woul permit me to do user accounting over the network, based under HP-UX 11.00.

I already thought of using a ksh script with ssh networking, but this doesn't really match what i want.

Some freeware GNU or Opensource would be great....

Just for your info, i've got over 400 servers with about 5000 local accounts, my servers range from Solaris 2.6-2.8 and HP-UX 10.20-11.i...

I think i would even like a C program!

Any help/ideas would be great...

Please, if you want describe in more detaill those tasks involved
as Accounting. The tool that you want is oriented to account
the use of resources?.

Oups, here's what you asked for!

IN fact, i'd need something to manage user accounts over these boxes, by this i mean, deleting creating or modifiing.

I'd like this thing to be as lite as possbile, GUI is not important...

I already thought of a ksh script with ssh, but this doesn't seem secure enough;..

Any more questions?

Have you thought about implementing NIS? It will work with both Solaris and HP-UX, give you one system to implement user creation/administration, and you can use net groups to keep folks only on the systems they are suppose to be on. And it's free.

Yep...

Yes i already thought of that one too!!!
But for security reasons proper to my compagny, they don't want NIS/NIS+ set up.....

LDAP

The security policies at your company allow LDAP authentication?

Nope!

I'm not sure if i said it, but i'm looking for a way for user management, not for user authentication;

We don't want to set LDAP up....

Maybe i should set up my shell with ssh connections, it'll probably be the quickest way?
