how to read this

Dear All,

I have some need, I want know how to read this file, and how to get IP from remote that connect to my system my is (10.178.10.xxx) and how can I see what they doing in my system.

nroff

1) Look for "man nroff" for viewing the document . You might.. On Unix, you can install StarOffice too, which can view.

(Else forward to your gmail a/c and then you can open in html).

2) Rlogin to your machine and do "who" and "ps -ef"

In this example there are no remote systems connected to your system.

Basically there are 2 types of lines:

Code:
127.0.0.1.9999       127.0.0.1.32780      57344      0 32768      0 ESTABLISHED
10.178.10.23.1114    10.178.10.23.32804   32768      0 32768      0 ESTABLISHED

10.178.10.23 is without any doubt the IP of your system.
127.0.0.1 is youw own system as well (so called localhost)

what we see ,in each scenario, is a connection between 2 ports, BOTH on your own system.

Some are bound to the IP, some to the "localhost".
