file system

Dear friends,

I am using Linux os. on DELL system.

Now i have a problem if i want to do something on my system the error


Read-only file system is coming.

i am unable to do anything on my system.

if i open browser then the error ,

could not process : unable to create io-slave : read-only file system.

please help.

I could not locate at the exact problem.

Could you please mention the Linux Distribution that are you using
and the list the /etc/fstab file contents.

Is this dell box installed windows system before? I guess, just guess no experience with this, you need to reformat your system disk and reinstall your linux.

Or his default home directory is on an ntfs disk....

Don't go reformatting anything yet. Smilie

did you try to remount your filesystem in r/w mode ?

how to mount a file system from a solaris server into an hp-ux system
