extendvg error....
Code:
root:/home/root # extendvg rootvg hdisk50
0516-1339 extendvg: Physical volume contains some 3rd party volume group.
0516-1397 extendvg: The physical volume hdisk50, will not be added to
the volume group.
0516-792 extendvg: Unable to extend volume group.


root:/home/root # extendvg -f rootvg hdisk50
0516-1339 extendvg: Physical volume contains some 3rd party volume group.

I bet there is a question hiding somewhere here. But sadly my crystal ball is in the shop, so you'll have to tell us any additional information yourself.

i am try to add new disk to volume group and have got this erro

root:/home/root # extendvg rootvg hdisk50

root:/home/root # extendvg -f rootvg hdisk50
0516-1339 extendvg: Physical volume contains some 3rd party volume group.
0516-1397 extendvg: The physical volume hdisk50, will not be added to the volume group.
0516-792 extendvg: Unable to extend volume group.

volume group is rootvg and disk is hdisk50

i can see it with lsdev -Cc disk
hdisk50 Available Virtual SCSI Disk Drive

but i don't know why i can't added it

Did you use ASM on that disk before? Found this:

and this:

So dd seems to be the solution.

after
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/rhdisk50 bs=1024 count=30
30+0 records in.
30+0 records out.

i got similar error
root:/home/root # extendvg rootvg hdisk50
0516-1254 extendvg: Changing the PVID in the ODM.
0516-1397 extendvg: The physical volume hdisk50, will not be added to
the volume group.
0516-792 extendvg: Unable to extend volume group.

Did you type hdisk5 by mistake? Or did you edit the post? Why is it hdisk50 and then hdisk5?

root:/home/root # extendvg rootvg hdisk5
