Automatic PowerOff!!

Hi Guys,
I faced a problem in one of our workstations, from five days ago when i come to office i see that this system has been powred off & when i start it up again it goes trough the "System Setup Restoring " & seems that automatic power off is active .

For disabling this i went to /etc/power.conf & replaced "noshutdwon " instead of shutdown but as the system again went to automatic shutdown i killed the "Powerd " process & till now it did not happen again.....Anyway i don't know is there any reason or any other file which i should modify & also is that right to kill Powerd?!!

Thanks for your help.

Your /etc/power.conf should look like this (the two important fields to you are the auto-shutdown and behavior)
#Auto-Shutdown Idle(min) Start/Finish(hh:mm) Behavior
autoshutdown 30 9:00 9:00 noshutdown

You did not have to kill powerd. Per the man page...

The daemon reads the automatic shutdown information from the
file /etc/power.conf. The daemon will reread the automatic
shutdown information whenever it receives a hang-up signal,
SIGHUP.

I believe you can also use the command 'setterm.' Use 'xset' if you are running X server.
