Question Find & read a script in Unix
Hi,

Please give me the cmd to find the location of a script(eg. xyz_bkup.sh).also i want to read the contents of the script.

Code:
find . -name scriptname|xargs cat

after find give the search dir then give your script name

i tried the following and got the followng output

1.find . -name <scriptname> output:cursor went to next line
2. search dir <scriptname> output:command not found
3.find . -name <scriptname> | xargs cat output: file not found

i am not able to find the location of this script
and also i want to read it.

Please help me

so you don't know where exactly the file is i mean not even the dir..
do one thing go to your root dir then issue the 3 command what you mentioned

i ran it from root and the cursor went to the next line and not output.
any command to find the directory where all Backup.sh scripts are written like using *backup.sh*

then i doubt there is any such file because if you ran it from root and then also you didn't get the file there is something wrong
