LINKS command not working !!

Hello all..

When i issue command
--------------------------------------------
bash-2.03$ links http://www.google.com/
bash: links: command not found
------------------------------------------------

any reason why this is not working...iam on solaris 8.

you can check which or apropos command that shows you situtation msg that command was loaded in system or not. or if you loaded manually may be it is in /opt you have to give exact way of the link command.

'links'? what is it that you're trying to do?
do you mean 'lynx'?

There is more than one textmode browser in the world. As vgersh99 suggests, your system might have lynx. Or it might have links2. If it doesn't have any of them, ask your sysadmin to install one.

i did try links, lynx, links2...nothing is working..and i am the sys admin for this box. looks like, its not installed. how do we install it ?...any help is appreciated.

here is the intel version, here is the sparc version. I'm guessing you'll also find lynx-2.8.<something>.pkg.zip on your install CD's somewhere. Once you have them, you can install packages with pkgadd as detailed here.
