Finding the global zone name

Hi

im in a local zone
which command if i execute in the local zone will show the global zone name

Impossible without "hacking" the zone system.

You can use below command from non-global zone to "guess" global zone name.

Code:
arp -a | grep -i SP

Basically, you are hacking your network traffic to find out global zone's name.
This may not work with exclusive IP stacking for non-global zone.

admins at times create some file which stores the global zone name in the local zone.. Smilie

Indeed, however, this method will fail if the zone is moved on a different server (detach/attach) but the file isn't updated in the process ...
